Resumen

Well defined Mo²⁺ surface sites of silica-supported catalyst, produced by H₂ reduction of the fixed molybdenum tetraallyl precursor, show a characteristic IR signal at 2170 cm ^-1 due to adsorbed carbon monoxide. Higher oxidation states of Mo in the same catalyst do not show any signal related to this probe molecule.
