M.Sc. Sara del Rocio Ochoa Averos is an Ecuadorian civil engineer and researcher specializing in sustainable construction, construction materials, and waste valorization. She holds a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Construction Materials and Performance from the Federal University for Latin American Integration (UNILA), Brazil, where she was awarded a CAPES scholarship.

Her research interests focus on sustainable civil engineering, waste valorization, and the development of environmentally friendly construction materials, contributing to innovative solutions for the construction sector and sustainable development.

She is currently a faculty member of the Faculty of Socio-Environmental Sciences and Director of the Sustainable Architecture Program at Universidad Regional Amazónica Ikiam. In this role, she promotes the interdisciplinary education of professionals committed to sustainability, the Amazonian territory, and innovation in sustainable design and construction. She has participated in research projects related to sustainability, bioeconomy, and alternative materials for sustainable construction.
