Dr. Marcela Cabrera Bejarano is a faculty researcher at Universidad Regional Amazónica Ikiam and serves as Head of the National Water Reference Laboratory. She holds a Master's Degree in Integrated Water Resources Management and has an outstanding academic and research background in environmental sciences, water resources, and water quality.
Her scientific work focuses on areas such as ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry, aquatic pollution, emerging contaminants, and the assessment of environmental impacts on aquatic ecosystems. She has an extensive scientific production published in national and international journals, contributing to the generation of knowledge and the development of strategies for sustainable water management and the conservation of Amazonian ecosystems.
As a faculty member and researcher, she promotes academic training based on research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In her role as Head of the National Water Reference Laboratory, she strengthens the scientific and technical capacities of Universidad Regional Amazónica Ikiam, contributing to the study and sustainable management of water resources in Ecuador.
