The Tropical Ecosystems and Global Change Research Group aims to address critical knowledge gaps by generating and disseminating robust empirical evidence on the impacts of global change on tropical ecosystems and human societies. The group's research focuses on four thematic areas: the effects of global change on human populations, integrated tropical forest management, biodiversity conservation, and landscape restoration. Through interdisciplinary research, the group contributes to scientific knowledge and supports sustainable environmental management and evidence-based decision-making.
Research Areas
- Effects of Global Change on Human Populations and Landscape Planning.
- Integrated Tropical Forest Management, with Emphasis on Carbon Dynamics and Non-Timber Forest Products
- Biodiversity Conservation and Its Vulnerability to Global Change.
- Effects of Land Use, Forest Cover Change, and Conservation Policies on Ecosystem Services and Landscape Restoration.
